Stephanie Grisham who was Donald Trump’s press aide during the 2016 campaign said she would speak at the Democratic National Convention today — something that she never thought she would do. Stephanie became a Trump-detractor after the Capitol riot of 2021 and recently expressed her opinion about the campaign — that Trump is scared and hence addressing press conferences.In an exclusive statement to the NBC News ahead of her address at the convention, Stephanie said, “I never thought I’d be speaking at a Democratic convention. But, after seeing firsthand who Donald Trump really is, and the threat he poses to our country, I feel very strongly about speaking out.”
Stephanie said she does not agree with Kamala Harris on everything but she is supporting her and is proud about that. “I know she will defend our freedoms and represent our nation with honesty and integrity,” Stephanie said.
“While Donald Trump continues to attack moderates and independents, the Harris-Walz campaign has made clear that there is a place in our coalition for voters who reject the extremism of Donald Trump and want to protect our democracy,” a Harris campaign official said.
Stephanie’s address is meant for Republicans against Trump to ensure Trump never returns to the White House.
Grisham has been a long-time ally of Trumps — after serving as a press aide in the 2016 campaign, she became the chief of staff and press secretary for Melania Trump. In 2019, she became White House press secretary and then she moved to a communications director role. In 2021, she resigned hours after Trump supporters stormed the UP capitol on January 6, 2021. She later revealed that she wanted to resign on previous occasions too but was talked out of it every time by Melania.
