JD Vance took note of the suspicion and said it was disgusting. “Brianna this is disgusting, and you and your entire network should be ashamed of yourselves. When I got the call to go to Iraq, I went. Tim Walz said he carried a gun in a war. Did he? No. It was a lie,” JD posted.
Trump War Room also took the allegation seriously and explained that the difference is JD Vance never lied about his rank or his service and when his unit was deployed to Iraq, he ‘didn’t abandon’ — alluding to their accusation that Kamala Harris’ running mate Minnesota governor Tim Walz lied about his military record.
“It’s easy to sit in the comfort and safety of a @CNN studio and trivialize the service of countless men and women who risked their lives,” JD said.
Walz and Vance are the first veterans on national tickets since the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) ran for president in 2008, and would be the first veteran to serve as president or vice president since President George W. Bush, a former lieutenant in the Texas Air National Guard.
As the CNN anchor came under Vance’s fire, it was informed that Keilar is a military spouse and her husband is an active-duty Green Beret.
JD Vance served as a combat correspondent in Iraq between August 2005 and February 2006 but his role was non-combative.
