Former president Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he will sit with X owner, Tesla CEO Elon Musk next Tuesday for an interview in the run up to the November election for which Musk has already endorsed the Republican presidential candidate. “ON MONDAY NIGHT I’LL BE DOING A MAJOR INTERVIEW WITH ELON MUSK — Details to follow,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
Trump recently hosted internet influencer Adin Ross at his Mar-a-Lago residence and got a Tesla Cybertruck valued at $60,000 as a gift.
Trump has a love-hate relationship with EV as he was a known hater of electric vehicles but recently converted after Musk endorsed him. “I’m for electric cars, I have to be because Elon endorsed me very strongly,” Trump said recently. “So I have no choice.”
Elon Musk has been backing Trump’s return to the White House and openly announced it after the assassination bid on Trump. He also questioned the ‘shadow ban’ on Trump by Google and Meta but denied reports of $45m per month donation to Donald Trump’s campaign. He said he plans to donate but at a much lower level.
Trump has participated in a number of interviews on Fox News and elsewhere across conservative media in recent weeks, but is facing intensifying pressure to debate Vice President Harris, who has said she is willing to face off with Trump on September 10 on ABC. Trump has said he will not debate Harris on ABC, citing what he says is the network’s bias against him, and proposing Harris debate him a week earlier at an event hosted by Fox News.
