Prince William is reportedly “spitting mad” at his brother Prince Harry for mentioning Princess Diana in his interviews.
Prince Harry appeared in two interviews where in one of them he was heard talking about Princess Diana.
While talking with the ITV documentary Tabloids on Trial’s Rebecca Barry , he said, “There’s evidence to suggest that [my mother] was being hacked in the mid-90s, probably one of the first people to be hacked. And yet still today, the tabloid press very much enjoy painting her as being paranoid. But she wasn’t paranoid.”
“William is spitting mad that Harry would reference this again,” Australian magazine New Idea quoted an insider as saying. “He’s so fed up with [the Sussexes] cashing in on Diana’s death.
“Harry just won’t move on and it appears that since marrying Meghan, the obsession with his mother has only intensified. William’s getting to the point where he’s washing his hands of Harry for good.”
In 2017, the brothers had promised not to speak candidly about their mother’s death again, something Harry has seemingly not adhered to since stepping down as a senior royal, according to UK based Express.
William had stated in an ITV interview on the 20th anniversary of her death that they would not speak as openly or publicly about her again, hoping that the film would provide the other side from close family friends and those who knew her best and wanted to protect her memory.
The New Idea report further claims that William no longer recognizes his brother and that the decisions he is making are worsening Royal Family relations. They added that while William was open to the idea of reconciling with Harry in the future, he currently doesn’t trust him.
The ITV interview focused on Harry’s ongoing issues with the British media. In February, he was awarded £140,600 in damages by the Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) after claiming that information about him was published that was obtained through phone hacking and other illegal methods. MGN has apologized unreservedly and taken full responsibility for historical wrongdoing.
Harry has previously spoken about the “differences” he has with his brother in various TV interviews and even alleged in his memoir Spare that the pair got into a physical altercation that led to him needing stitches.
In a recent CBS interview, Harry and Meghan discussed their desire to protect their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, from online content. They emphasized the importance of being a part of change for good in the online space and the need for parents to be first responders in addressing the terrifying possibility of suicide among young people, reported the Express.
