According to Fox59 news, the showers, driven by an area of low pressure positioned over the Indiana-Ohio border, are predicted to bring gusty winds up to 40-50 MPH, heavy downpours, thunder and lightning.
Despite the intensity, flash flooding is less of a concern due to the fast-moving nature of these storms.
As night falls, Central Indiana residents prepare for dense fog, which will persist till Saturday morning. This pattern of foggy nights and mornings is expected to continue into late Saturday and early Sunday, attributed to clear skies, moderate humidity, and moisture-laden grounds.
However, a more stable weather pattern is on the horizon. An extended period of sunny, hot, and moderately humid weather is forecasted, as high pressure moves in to dominate Central Indiana’s weather. This shift will bring daily sunshine to the region, with temperatures slightly above normal this weekend and into the first half of the next workweek.
Meteorologists predict that highs will approach 90°F on Monday and Tuesday before a potential pattern shift midweek. While there is a possibility of rain during this period, the chances are currently considered low and have not been included in the 7-Day Forecast.
Residents are advised to keep sunscreen and sunglasses handy for the coming days to stay protected from the sunny and hot conditions.
