- Fred said he always voted for the Democrats — for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020 and would vote for Kamala Harris in 2024. But he never spoke against his uncle. He said he would attend his uncle’s inauguration if Donald Trump wins the election and he’s invited.
- Fred said despite their difference, he never cut ties with his uncle, visited him a dozen times at the Oval Office. He admitted that Donald Trump voluntarily and regularly contributed an undisclosed amount to a fund to help pay for his son’s medical expenses.
- But Fred never forgot what his uncle told him about his disabled son who is now 25 years old. “What did he just say? That my son doesn’t recognize me? That I should just let him die?” Fred wrote in his memoir.
- Fred said he heard the N word from his uncle when he was just 10 years old. But he does not think his uncle is racist, he thinks his uncle uses people.
- Trump has never met William, Fred said and explained that Trump does not consider anyone below him as a ‘worthy person’ unless he needs their vote. Donald Trump, however, earlier said he helped his nephew a lot for his son’s treatment. “I helped him so much, more than anyone else in his life, and this is the thanks I get. I even set up [a] meeting with NIH and top doctors in the country talking about his son, who is disabled,” Donald Trump said in the statement earlier.
- Fred’s sister Mary Trump in her book said Donald Trump and his siblings disinherited Fred and her from family inheritance. The case was settled in 2001. Fred said he didn’t look forward to the calls to Donald Trump which he had to make because of money which he should have originally received from his grandfather.
