“I know so many people. They never met the right person, male or female … just never met the right person,” Trump told Fox News host Laura Ingraham in a Monday night interview. “They’re unbelievable. They’re every bit as good as anybody else that has the most beautiful family.”
Vance likes family, Trump continued. “I think a lot of people like family. And sometimes it doesn’t work out. And you know why … you don’t meet the right person or you don’t meet any person, but you’re just as good — in many cases … a lot better than a person that’s in a family situation.”
Trump did not mention the exact catchphrase ‘childless cat ladies’ which JD Vance used years ago targeting Democratic leaders like Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. Coming under fire over this statement, Vance recently clarified that his target are not those who can’t become parents but those who are ethically anti-family like the Democrats. Both Kamala and Pete had family and children (non-biological) when Vance made the statement. AOC too had a longtime partner Riley Roberts with whom she’s now engaged.
Steering clear of the controversial catchphrase, Donald Trump said Vance made a statement about families. “He grew up in a very interesting family situation, and he feels family is good.”
The ‘childless cat ladies’ remark snowballed into a major controversy when Jennifer Aniston spoke condemned it and reminded him that many can not conceive child because of medical reasons.
