Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha Markle said what Meghan did to the Royal Family was not new; she did it to her own family and to many other people, including her parents. “I knew my dad had suffered but I thought she would stop at the Queen,” Samantha said in an interview with DailyMail. Samantha said she used to consider Prince Harry as the victim initially but he had equal part in alienating the Royal Family through his memoir Spare.
The two sisters last spoke in 2016 and Samantha recalled that Meghan said, “Let’s keep in touch babe”, but Meghan did not keep in touch. Samantha said had Meghan wanted, she could have introduced her family to the world.
“Meghan has no idea what she is missing out on because when my dad goes, it will be too late. Believe me, I know. You can’t get back that time. It leaves a hole in your heart.”
“When my father passes away, I hope she can feel, and remember he loved her more than life itself – or she will never be able to look in the mirror,” Samantha said about their 80-year-old father Thomas Markle.
“As souls, we don’t want our kids to pay us back. My dad doesn’t want Meghan to pay him back. But you want love from them because there is a pain in your heart if it isn’t there. I didn’t want my mom to die feeling she was alone, and not loved. I almost left it too late,” Meghan’s sister said.
Samantha wants Meghan to contact their father, but she herself doesn’t want to patch things up with Meghan. “If you accept an olive branch, you are asking to be hurt again. I think that would be weird. It would be hard to trust that she was doing it for the right reasons.”
“I think what makes me sad now is there were so many missed opportunities for love and real family,” Samantha said.
