Music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs‘ A-list celebrity friends are “scared to death” of being called to testify against him in court, according to a PR expert. Diddy remains in a Brooklyn detention center in New York, awaiting trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, which he denies. Since his arrest in September, his usually vocal circle of celebrity associates has remained notably silent.
Eric Schiffer, a celebrity crisis and PR expert, spoke about the lack of public support for Combs, telling The Mirror, “Unlike Harvey Weinstein or R Kelly, the response to Diddy’s arrest is massively quiet within the celebrity community.”
Schiffer attributes this silence to fear, saying, “Celebrities are silent because they are scared to death of their brands being in the klieg lights and bleeding out with fans over ties to Diddy, and worse, getting subpoenaed to reveal Diddy’s chamber of secrets.”
Combs’ legal team recently filed a motion for his release on bail ahead of his May 5 trial. A previous bail request in September was denied, with the judge citing concerns about potential witness intimidation. Combs is currently facing 100 allegations of sexual abuse, including both criminal and civil cases.
Even as Combs marked his recent birthday behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center, the silence continued. His family celebrated via video call, with his son Justin sharing a clip on Instagram captioned, “Happy Birthday Pops, we love you!”
