CNN political analyst Maggie Haberman said Donald Trump’s awkward dance for 30 minutes at Pennsylvania townhall was weird. Donald Trump does such weird things but in private, with his aides on the Mar-a-Lago patio, when he turns into DJ-ing on an iPad, a long-Trump watcher Haberman said adding that he was actually anxious when people started falling sick.
The journalist said she does not have any other word than weird to describe Trump’s 30-minute musical other than ‘weird’.Kamala Harris campaign claimed that Trump actually froze on stage and was completely confused leading to many fact-check reports on the townhall.
Maggie said the medical emergencies were delaying the event and Trump was anxious as it was taking time to ensure that those who fell sick were doing okay. At one point of time, Trump talked to the Secret Service whether they could open the gates. “But the answer was no,” Maggie said explaining that so Trump asked for music and hoped that the audience members would start leaving. “But people did not leave and all of them started swaying along with him and then he was feeding off what they were doing.,” the journalist said on CNN calling it unusual to see on campaign trail.
“And you know this very well. The music thing is a big thing for him. It was how people would basically reset him in the White House,” Haberman said.
South Dakota governor Kristi Noem’s face said it all, she was the moderator and she was completely clueless, the journalist said.
The townhall turned into an ad hoc music fest after two members of the audience fainted because of the heat. Trump requested air-conditioning. “They probably can’t afford it, sir, in this economy,” Noem said.
“Let’s not do any more questions. Let’s just listen to music. Let’s make it into a music. Who the hell wants to hear questions, right?” he said following which a nine-song playlist started and Trump danced.
“Those two people who went down are patriots. We love them. And because of them, we ended up with some great music, right?” Trump said.
