Orders for projects in Italy, India, Colombia, Portugal, Spain, and Brazil are included in the new set of Vestas orders in the late 2020. The supply and construction of 90 V162-5.6 MW EnVentus wind turbines and a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) operation agreement was included in the Columbian contract. It’ll be the first program in Latin America to include turbines from the EnVentus platform, taking the worldwide order intake beyond 2 GW for the site.
The V162-5.6 MW uses the largest rotor size in Vestas portfolio with a swept area of more than 20,000m2 to attain industry-leading energy output combined with a high power factor. It is the second batch obtained in the last 6 months by Vestas Company in Colombia. Vestas firm plays a vital role in helping the continent’s shift towards a more renewable energy mix, with over 12 GW deployed or under development in Latin America. According to customer order, turbine supply and commissioning are unspecified.
Finerge, a renewable energy producer from Portugal, has imposed an 8 MW request in Portugal for the expansion of 3 wind farms around the region, increasing Vestas’ request intake in Portugal by over 100 MW in the year 2020 and contributing to the over 750 MW of the Vestas wind turbines already deployed in the rapidly-growing wind industry in the country. The order entails the supply and construction and a 20-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) operation arrangement of two V120-2.2 MW wind turbines as well as one V136-3.6 MW wind turbine. Based in mountainous areas, the four wind schemes would benefit from the experience of Vestas in operations and installations under even the most demanding circumstances.
In Italy, for an unspecified project, Vestas has received a 51 MW request, such as the supply and construction of V136-4.2 MW wind turbines, which are eleven in total, 10 of which will be supplied under the 4.3 MW Optimized Power Mode, V117-3.45 MW wind turbine, which is one and a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service contract. Since the year 1991, Vestas has deployed more than 4.3 GW in the Italian market, accounting for 40% of the market share. In India, Vestas has a new request for its 17 MW Hospet project located in Karnataka, India, from one of its current customers, MSPL Limited.
This will contribute to Vestas’s current installed base located in India of about 4 GW. The supply and installation of 7 V120-2.2 MW turbines and another V100-2.0 MW turbine were included in the request. It is expected that deliveries will start during the first quarter of the year 2021, while the implementation process is scheduled for the third quarter of the same year. In Spain, an engineering, procurement as well as construction (EPC) order was awarded to Vestas for the 35 MW wind plant, such as the supply, transportation, installation, and the commissioning of 16 V120-2,2 MW wind turbines. Turbine completion is scheduled by the second half of the year 2021, while commissioning is anticipated by 2022 in the first half.https://pinstripeempireny.com/
