In a social media post, Kerry Kennedy said, “We want an America filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision of a brighter future, a future defined by individual freedom, economic promise, and national pride. We believe in Harris and Walz.”
Kerry added, “Our brother Bobby’s decision to endorse Trump today is a betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear. It is a sad ending to a sad story.”
This reaction comes after RFK Jr’s announcement that he is withdrawing from the presidential race and will instead support the Republican nominee Donald Trump. The dramatic shift from an independent campaign to endorsing Trump has stunned many.
In his resignation speech, he expressed his lack of belief in a viable path to victory, saying, “I am suspending my campaign,” and adding, “I cannot in good conscience ask my staff and volunteers to keep working their long hours or ask my donors to keep giving when I cannot honestly tell them that I have a real path to the White House.”
Kennedy, in his statement also said that his former Democratic party was “corrupt” and that it waged “continual legal warfare against both President Trump and myself.”
