Time’s latest cover featured Kamala Harris in a black and white sketch and titled it as “Her Moment”. The photo illustration has been done by Neil Jamieson.
“Where has this Kamala Harris been all along? For years, Democratic officials questioned her political chops, pundits mocked her word salads, and her polling suggested limited appeal. Her performance in the 2020 presidential primary was wooden, and her turn as Biden’s No. 2 did little to inspire confidence. Even this summer, as party insiders chattered about possible replacements if Biden stepped aside, “it was explicit from some of the major donors that she can’t win,” says Amanda Litman, the co-founder of Run for Something, an organization that trains young Democrats to run for office. “They didn’t think people were ready to elect someone like her” — a paragraph of the “reintroduction” read.
The audio of Trump’s odd remark comparing Melania and Kamala Harris trigged a volley of responses on social media. “Oh I’m sure Melania loves that one,” a user wrote. “Trump keeping it classy,” another wrote.
The comment came as Melania remains missing in action in the campaign scene as she is busy with her memoir to be published soon. Melania earlier hinted that she may not return to White House for a full-time role even if Trump becomes elected again and would like to devote her time between Washington and New York.
